Where to Find Guest Book Inspiration
One of the first things we do with couples who are interested in having a Guest Book made is have them tell us about their relationship—no matter how well we already know them. It helps us start gathering ideas for guest book pages, but really it is an opportunity for you to reminisce about your relationship and look forward to life together as a married couple! And who knows, you might even learn something new about each other!
We have found five main categories that work well to get couples thinking about their relationship in a way that we can represent in a book.
1) Music
Songs—whether “your song” or simply some of your favorite lyrics about love—are an easy place to start when thinking of Guest Book quotes. One that has actually been included in TWO of our guest books is “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green!
2) Common Interests
A shared love of board games, books, movies, or outdoor activities can bring some fun and personality to your guest book. These are often our favorite pages that we put together!
3) The Dating Years
Bringing special details from your first date or other aspects of your relationship into your guest book makes for a sentimental memento as well.
4) The Proposal
We love including parts of the proposal in our guest books. That could include the scene where it took place, a small detail, or something funny that was said. (When Kellan asked me, he was holding the box the wrong way, with the ring sticking straight out at me. The first words out of my mouth were, “It’s upside down, but yes!”)
5) Your Wedding
You’ve already worked so hard to make sure everything is just right for your wedding, so include those details in your book! It could be your first dance song, a reading from your ceremony, or certain decorations that you really love.
