Where to Add Lettering to Your Home
I’ve always enjoyed decorating with words. I like to think of the quotes around our home as little mantras for each room—visual cues to take a breath, maybe laugh at a joke, and remember what I’m working towards and how I want to live. These are the four types of quotes we always have around:
1) A quote full of heart in the entryway
We have a small little nook at the end of our hall that we use as an entryway area. There’s a small table for mail, a rack on the back of a closet door for coats, and in the winter there’s usually a little towel where we set our salty-snowy boots. The chalkboard helps make this feel like more of an intentional space than a random table in the hallway. And the quote is a perfect one to welcome people into our home (maybe that will happen again one day)!
2) A joke in the bathroom
Who doesn’t like bathroom jokes? I made this watercolor design at the beginning of quarantine and still haven’t gotten tired of it! Since the actual page was smaller than the frame I had, we backed it with some spare scrapbook paper I had leftover from an old project. It always makes me smile and adds some fun to the shelf.
3) A little romance on a bookcase
We have our vows displayed on this bookcase next to the cake topper from our wedding. It’s a sweet reminder of our wedding that we get to see every day. This Page of Calligraphy works great for vows. And a bonus: since we are celebrating our own anniversary this week, this product is 15% off until midnight on Friday, June 26.
4) Some motivation at your work space
Whether you’re still working at home or have returned back to your regular office, I think all work spaces benefit from some motivational/inspirational quotes. Find three, including the one pictured above, as free downloads here!
