Welcome to Alissa Klaus Ink!
I have been practicing lettering since I took my first class in December 2015. Six months later, I moved to Chicago with my husband and spent my days practicing my new skills. What began as a distraction from job hunting became a creative outlet and passion. I love writing with ink on paper and documenting people’s meaningful words in a beautiful way that can be enjoyed again and again. While I’ve grown from simply sharing my creations on Instagram to now offering products and services, I still seek the simplicity and joy of my first days in every project I do.
After 5 years in Chicago and earning my Masters of Arts Management degree at Columbia College Chicago, I moved back to my hometown (and alma mater!) to serve as Director of the Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College of Louisiana. I get to spend my days surrounded by art, working with students excited to work in the museum and its collection, and walking aspiring artists and curators through bringing their exhibition ideas to life. It really is the dream!
In my spare time, you can find me piecing together puzzles, organizing and reorganizing every closet in our house, or carefully scratching out letters with a calligraphy pen.
